The Vacant/Occupied Sliding Sign can be directly installed on the women’s restroom door using the foam adhesive strip included with your order. The top panel of the sign slides horizontally back and forth to reveal if the restroom is occupied or vacant. Sliding Signs have the following benefits -

- Strong Construction - These signs are made from a 60 mil thick engraved plastic plate recessed within a solid anodized aluminum frame.
Engraved signs are available in aluminum as well as plastic. Text on the 20 mil thick Engraved Aluminum Signs (DiamondPlate Signs) is sealed into the aluminum core. Plastic Engraved Signs (also known as Select-a-Color Signs) come in two variants. Both the Indoor Engraved Signs and Outdoor Engraved Signs are made of acrylic, but the latter has a better life than the former. Engraved signs can be ordered with adhesive tape, Velcro, or holes with mounting screws.
ShowCase™ Signs are made of 125 mil thick acrylic - more than double the thickness of Engraved signs (60 mil). The text is under the surface which protects the printing. Premium-looking ShowCase signs are primarily for indoor use but can be used outdoors too for approximately 3 years. Drilling into the sign will crack it.

Braille: Sign features Grade II Braille as specified by ADA.
Raised Lettering: TactileTouch letters on the sign are raised by 1/32 inch.
Case: Characters are in upper case with "Optima" type font, a sans serif type of font.
Letter height: ADA specifies that all raised characters must be at least 5/8 inches high but should be no higher than 2 inches (50 mm).
Pictograms:Pictograms are raised and have a verbal description of the picture directly below them. Pictograms have a field height of 6 inches (150 mm) minimum.
Finish: The sign has a non-glare, matte finish. Symbols and characters have a stark contrast with the background—all combinations offered are either light characters on a dark background or vice versa, with a contrast level of roughly 70%.
Rounded Corners: Since these signs are read by touch, they do not have sharp or abrasive edges.

Our Anodized Aluminum Signs, also known as the DiamondPlate Signs, are 20 mil thick. The metal is anodized and the signs last at least for 10 years outdoors. These are supplied with 3M 468 adhesive on the entire back for a good application. Signs perform really well in terms of durability, chemical, and water resistance.
